Helping founders and scale-ups bridge strategy and execution to deliver working tech that drives real business outcomes

Areas of expertise

I help companies navigate the gap between technical ambition and executable reality.

When you have developers but lack senior technical leadership to make critical architectural decisions, or when you're burning budget on technology without seeing expected outcomes, the path forward becomes unclear.

Common challenges include stalled decision-making because no one owns technical strategy, poor architectural choices that create bottlenecks, roadmaps that don't translate to deliverable engineering work, and AI initiatives stuck in exploration mode without real implementation.

For founders, this often means being unable to explain your tech function to investors or boards. I focus on cutting through technical complexity to establish clear priorities, bridge the disconnect between strategy and delivery, and transform "we're exploring technology" into working systems that actually change how your business operates.

About Me

I'm Jason, a Fractional CTO who bridges the gap between ambitious tech vision and actual delivery.

As a SaaS founder who built, scaled, and exited LoyalFree in 2023, I've lived the full journey from startup chaos to successful exit.

Now I help companies get unstuck when they're burning money on tech without seeing results.

Over 15+ years, I've led technical delivery at E.ON, Experian, NHS, and AstraZeneca - the kind of complex organizations where execution actually matters.

Currently, I'm CTO for a funded AI language learning platform, shipping real AI implementations while others are still exploring. I work with founders and scale-ups who need someone who can challenge strategy in the boardroom, then lead the engineering team the same day.

If you're stuck between ambition and execution, let's talk.

Common Questions

I help founders and scale-ups who are stuck between tech ambition and execution - you're spending money on development but not getting the business outcomes you expected. Usually there's no senior technical leadership making the right architectural calls, or you're bottlenecked by tech decisions you can't fully evaluate.

This is a good fit for founders and CEOs who need someone who can bridge strategy and delivery - someone who can challenge your roadmap in the boardroom, then lead your engineering team or write code the same day. You have developers but need the right technical leadership above them.

You'll stop flying blind on technology decisions. Clear direction on what to build, why, and in what order - with a team that's actually delivering against it. For most clients, that means getting to market faster, burning less on wrong priorities, and having a tech function you can confidently explain to investors.

I step in as your technical leadership layer - making architectural decisions, leading engineering teams, and ensuring tech choices align with business strategy. I'm currently Fractional CTO for a funded AI platform, so I'm actively doing this work, not just consulting on it.

Engagements are outcome-focused and hands-on. I might be advising on technical strategy one day and reviewing code or leading sprint planning the next. The work adapts to what you need most - whether that's rescuing a stalled project, scaling an existing product, or building something new from scratch.
